Kate Little, President and CEO of Georgia ACT
Kate Little knows nonprofits.
She has a long and distinguished career working for nonprofits to expand affordable housing and community development in Georgia. She was the president and CEO of Georgia Advancing Communities Together, a statewide membership organization of nonprofit housing and community development organizations.
After beginning her career as a district manager for the Atlanta Housing Authority and directing a reinvestment program in Atlanta’s Westview neighborhood, Little oversaw the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and Multifamily Tax-Exempt Bond programs for the Georgia Housing Finance Authority. She knows better than most what it takes to make a difference in the lives of people striving to better provide for their families.
Her continued support is an important endorsement of our work on behalf of Georgians. She’s donated to GBPI’s annual fund since 2005, the second year of GBPI’s existence. She is a thoughtful donor.
Their research delivers solid solutions to Georgia’s challenges, showing ways to improve the lives of families and communities across the state.
Her donations over the years helped sustain GBPI’s growth from the team of four people in the formative days to the dozen who now collaborate to advance the organization’s mission – to build a more inclusive economy where everyone can participate and thrive.
GBPI expanded its capacity from a think tank with capacity to analyze broad state budget issues and access to health care to one with more specialized expertise.
Today GBPI’s subject specialties include state-level policies that affect public schools, health care, taxes, safety net issues and, of course, the state budget. GBPI expanded its analyst team in 2017 to add someone to focus exclusively on ways to improve access to Georgia’s technical colleges and universities.
With the help of donors like Kate Little, GBPI is able to better inform and educate Georgia’s elected officials to help them make the best decisions to help Georgians reach their full potential.
