Education
Overview
Education is foundational to a thriving society, thus requiring robust public investment and oversight. However, for generations, public education has been kept from or weaponized against Georgians based on race, class, gender, disability, home language, immigration status and more. GBPI recognizes this history and believes that quality public education should be available to all students, regardless of where they live or their parents’ earnings. GBPI’s education team analyzes Georgia’s financial and political stake in schooling—pre-Kindergarten through postsecondary education—through a lens that highlights the need for equity in funding and access moving forward.
