Join the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute on the first day of Georgia’s 2027 fiscal year, July 1st, 2026 at 3:30pm for a virtual town hall discussing our state budget primer. The budget primer is GBPI’s annual publication that outlines the state budget for the year, recognizes substantial changes from the preceding year and provides a clear-eyed view on what lawmakers have prioritized for our state. This year, there will also be a focus on budget trends over the full eight years of Gov. Kemp’s tenure as we prepare for Georgia’s next leaders to take office.
Our town hall is free and open to the public. It will feature GBPI experts discussing this year’s budget with a special focus on issue areas such as K-12 education, higher education, health care and economic justice. It will dive into data on timely issues such as income and property taxes, Kemp’s recent budget disregards and the DREAMS scholarship.
Stay informed on how state leaders are spending Georgia’s money, register today on zoom. (This webinar may require you to update your Zoom application to the latest version). You may also request a physical version of the budget primer here.
