Dr. Sonia Tetlow

Dr. Sonia Tetlow serves as the Director of Economic Security at GBPI. Prior to joining GBPI, Sonia worked for nearly ten years at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There she led initiatives to address disparities in health care access and health outcomes in collaboration with multi-sector coalitions, including national, international, and local government agencies, partners, and stakeholders. Sonia began her career in CDC’s Office of the Associate Director for Policy where she was instrumental in the launch of the agency’s first initiative to highlight non-clinical, cost-effective strategies proven to improve population health within five years, such as earned income tax credits.

Dr. Tetlow completed her graduate and postdoctoral training at Emory University where she earned an MPH in Health Policy and PhD in Health Services Research and Health Policy. Her work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as JAMA Network Open.
