The Kendeda Fund has supported GBPI since 2016, when the foundation launched its Atlanta portfolio. At that time, the Fund’s vision was bold and simple: ensure equitable access to high-quality education and economic opportunity for historically marginalized populations and communities of color in Atlanta. Here is what the executive director of the Kendeda Fund, Dena Kimball, had to say about GBPI:
“The Georgia Budget and Policy Institute’s analysis of the state’s annual budget and the legislative process that shapes it are essential ingredients for building a better Georgia. Informed by a deep commitment to equity and inclusion, their research provides an honest, clear picture of a rapidly changing state. It’s also a core component of Kendeda’s racial equity analysis in Atlanta and beyond. GBPI’s leadership and staff reflect the true diversity of our region, giving them added authority as they work to support an economic future that is truly by all and for all.”
