Cash & Safety Net
Overview
The safety net offers critical supports for Georgians when work is unavailable to them, inappropriate for their circumstances or does not pay enough to make ends meet. When basic needs programs—like cash and food assistance—work well, they support child development, individual health, family stability, and educational and work opportunities. Georgia should strengthen and protect these programs to ensure individuals, families and children can stay nourished and housed during tough times.
