Webinar: Follow the Money – A Primer on the Georgia State Budget

The state budget is a reflection of Georgia’s priorities. How lawmakers choose to collect, and spend, tax revenue is a crucial question for the state’s economy and local communities’ ability to thrive. The GBPI team put together an overview of the 2019 state budget and discussed what’s ahead in a recent webinar called Follow the Money – A Primer on the Georgia State Budget.

Our analyst team covered topics from health care to education, human services, taxes and offered commentary on where we are and where we go from here as a state. You can view the entire webinar below.

The Georgia Department of Human Services has clarified that SNAP recipients can use their EBT card with any unspent SNAP benefits in November.

DHS states: “Households may continue to redeem benefits issued to their electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card prior to Nov. 1, 2025, at any SNAP authorized retailer.”

However, as DHS reported before, the November SNAP benefits will be suspended until federal funds are available.
