Health Justice
Overview
All Georgians should have a fair and full opportunity to be as healthy as possible. This involves improving social conditions that can harm people’s health and working with different groups in specific, sensitive ways to address health issues that affect them. For too long, Georgia has ranked near the bottom when it comes to the health of its residents—from the number of adults without health insurance to lack of access to mental health care to limited pandemic preparedness—health systems are failing to meet the needs of Georgia’s diverse, growing population. A healthy, prosperous Georgia requires fully resourced and accessible health care, behavioral health supports and public health systems that can implement upstream, community-level solutions to save lives and money.
